Benefits of being an Introvert
Let me ask you something. Do you like texting over answering a call? And your perfect party means solitude time with a book and a cup of coffee!
Let me guess, you aren't a big fan of small talk. But you can go to lengths in a meaningful conversation if the topic is really interesting.
And your mind is as loud as your silent self.
If you think I was describing you right now, well, you are an introvert.
In a world where everyone focuses on standing out and building networks to be successful, being an introvert is quite challenging.
But do you know, being an introvert also has its benefits?
And in this article, I'll show you this warmer part of your introvertism.
So, let's find it out.
You are a keen observer
As an introvert, you have strong observation skills. Unlike extroverts, observing surroundings comes naturally to you.
Recharge time, oversensitiveness, an apt for a deep understanding of things on a fundamental level, and processing things inwardly prompt you to be observant.
And how do these observation skills help you? Well, imagine Sherlock Holmes doing an investigation of a murder case. He never misses a single clue, right? Your skills are similar to his.
With these superior observation skills, you can recall all details of the last group meeting or an exact review of an event you attended. Or you can correctly read your friend's feelings.
Girl, you could challenge Sherlock, I knew it!
You are creative
Creativity comes when you tune in to your inner world and embrace solitude. For you, a me-time break is necessary to recharge and stay productive throughout the day.
Just like sipping a cup of warm coffee on a winter morning, alone time is a much-needed starter for introverted people.
Albert Einstein, J.K. Rowling, Bill Gates, Larry Page, and Emma Watson are some of the famous introverts who gifted us the theory of relativity, Harry Potter, Microsoft, Google, etc.
Though introversion is not the reason for creativity, the connection we make with ourselves improves our innovation skills. Introverts just happen to enjoy the perks of being an introvert.
You have meaningful relations
As an introvert, you have a countable number of friends. But you are content. Why? Because all your friendships are meaningful; no timepass, no gossip, or no friendship for gain. You value your friends and the meaning it holds.
The facts others should remember about you are-
- You (introverts) are not necessarily shy
- Small talk drains your energy
- You crave deep connections
- You enjoy discussing meaningful topics, like- is death's end of life!
Gurrrl, keep it up!
You are empathetic
Everyone needs someone who can understand them and be relied upon. And what is better than having an introvert in life, who can know everything just by looking at you?
The world just got better! Isn’t it?
As an empath, you can absorb others’ feelings like a sponge. The emotions others feel can hit you too. You also like to comfort others when they are in pain or depressed.
While these all are great qualities, they can also take a toll on you, as you can go to any length to help others, neglecting self-care.
So, go on. First, treat yourself to your favorite cookies, alright?
You are the child of mother nature
Suppose I asked an introvert, whether they like to live near a forest, mountain, lake, or river. There is a 99% chance that the immediate answer (accompanied by a disbelief look) would be - ‘Is that even a question? There is no life without mother nature!’
Introverts are true people of the earth. Or you can say they carry the soul of our ancestors who lived in jungles and worshipped stars, earth, fire, and sky- like the spirit of an untamed waterfall enclosed in a human body!
Nature heals, boosts, and improves overall health including psychological benefits. The tranquility of nature helps escape the madness of life that an introvert faces every day.
Psst, if you see an introvert nature-ing alone, just run. As far as you can. Not worth it, really.
You have a different world inside your head
Having a quiet and stern outer appearance, you blend well in the background. No one notices you, because you prefer to daydream in the comfort of your place.
Let’s say, you are traveling to a place with historical importance. So, you would touch the walls, and imagine you traveled back in time. You can even sense their presence, with your sensitive senses.
Through this immersive or hyper-realistic imagination, you could uniquely see the past. This is helpful if you are a writer or an artist.
For another example, sometimes you would wonder what your other self is doing in an alternate universe. Or, whether aliens are watching the dinosaur or world wars on the earth.
Just like opening multiple tabs, your introverted mind keeps switching from one topic to another. But always you forget to close them.
You have multiple hobbies
Just as the extroverts recharge themselves with gossiping, partying, and being loud, the introverts’ enjoy their solitude with multiple hobbies.
From reading, writing, painting, gardening, cooking, and crafting- there is no limit to introverts’ interests and hobbies.
Although it’s not necessary for introverts to have hobbies, almost all introverts have expertise in more than one hobby.
These hobbies not only helps them soothe their oversensitive mind but also can make them an expert in their field.
For their quiet but loud worlds, their hobbies are their confidants. But it sometimes can be troublesome to choose a carrier path.
While finishing...
Introvertism is nothing but a personality type. When you learn how to accept and use it for your benefit, you can be more than amazing.
Some other benefits of being an introvert are-
- You can solve any problem
- You know yourself
- You have great concentration
- You are a great listener
- You are an independent thinker
Connecting with your inner self and understanding it, unlocks your full potential. This is what we need to lead a happy and soulful life.
What do you think? Does any of the above points describe you?
Let me know if I missed anything.
